Welcome to Sounding It Out: we're a friendly crowd, having a good deal of fun whilst pushing ourselves to an ever higher standard of performance whilst being exciting and interesting to watch and listen to.
We want to spread our love of singing to support peace and enviornmental initiatives, building bridges with other choirs in the UK and Europe.
We already have a reputation for the vitality of our performances. We create enjoyment and enthusiasm, uniquely involving our audience in the singing, wherever we go. We do a mixture of local gigs and some further afield. Already in the nearly three years of our existence we have performed at the Royal Festival Hall, London, in Berlin, at Stourhead, the Royal United Hospital Bath, Party in the City - during of Bath's International Music Festival - and in the Spiegeltent, part of the Bath Fringe Festival, not to mention busking along the South Bank in London!
From a member of the audience at Sounding It Out's Christmas Concert in Seend Church on November 27th 2010:
"A big thank you for giving us the pleasure of hearing the happy voices of "Sounding it out" last w/e. I know that everyone who came thoroughly enjoyed the evening and Renee (our vicar) was over the moon. Personally I loved every minute and one could feel the sense of friendship and enjoyment from all who participated in the singing. A really good atmosphere experienced by all, so thank you again."
from Laura brown, Head of Learning at the American Museum in Britain:
'The holidays are always a special time at the museum but your choir's performance at our Candlelight Night was absolute magic. In all the years we've held the event, never before have people stopped and stood mesmerized for nearly an hour to listen to the choir - you could have sung all night! So many visitors told us how much they enjoyed hearing such pure and beautiful music from a group of people who so obviously loved to sing. One visitor said to me, "the fireworks and decorations were great, but the choir was really special!" Thank you so much for being a part of our event and making it so special for all of us.'
We wlecome newcomers in June and September with a very informal group audition. Rehearsals are Mondays termly, in Trowbridge.
